Literacy: Instruction Writing

Our class text over the past few weeks has been Maroo of the Winter Caves, written by Ann Turnbull. The story is set at the end of the last Ice Age in Europe. The location is based on maps of Stone Age sites in the south of France. This week we have made stone age jewellery and we will follow this up in our literacy lessons by writing a set of instructions for the task.

Today in Art, we used oil pastels and ink to create our own posters based on those used during WW1 to spread information and messages to the people of Great Britain.

As a school we subscribe to an excellent website, which offers a vast range of learning resources to pupils. Each child has been given their own individual login details. They can use this website at home to consolidate work that they have done in class and improve their understanding of areas of the curriculum in which they are less confident. The website can be found at https://www.satsbootcamp.co.uk
