Maths

Maths is a life skill that we use daily in many aspects of our lives.  It equips pupils with the ability to reason logically, solve problems and think in an abstract way.

We aim to provide our pupils with a wide mathematical education taught in an engaging and relevant way. Maths is taught daily. Pupils explore all four number operations, exploring a range of strategies and building upon prior knowledge. Children are given plenty of opportunities to discuss their methods and are encouraged to use the correct mathematical language. Our aim is for pupils to understand mathematical concepts, skills, facts, relationships and strategies and be able to use and explain these in a confident way. These areas of mathematics are taught throughout the school with skills becoming progressively more demanding.
